Continuous Escalation Signal Screening
Patient communications are screened in real time for escalation signals, using red-flag rules configured with the clinic.
This is designed to apply to:
- booking requests
- follow-up messages
- general enquiries
- after-hours communications
The layer is designed to apply to each of these communication types.
Escalation Signal Handling
When a patient message contains potential urgency indicators:
- the system flags the escalation signal
- the standard communication flow is paused
- the clinic's escalation pathway is activated
- patient guidance and clinic notifications are triggered as configured by the clinic
The pathway is designed to act as soon as a signal is flagged.

When a potentially high-risk case is flagged:
Patient receives the clinic's approved safety guidance
Clinic receives a structured alert
Interaction context is attached
Case is routed to a clinician or on-call team for human review

Where configured, a single indicator can trigger escalation for human review.

Escalation rules can be configured for each stage of the IVF journey:
